New...New...New Developments

This is the view of the current back straight seating.  When completed it will provide excellent viewing opportunities for long and triple jump and pole vault as well as overlooking the entire track

When completed these seats will add a great vantage point for high jump spectators.

New Seating and Stands for Copthall Stadium

We are very proud to announce that all of the external seating is to be upgraded. This will provide new seating for the entire length of the stand on the back straight.  The old seats were really showing their age with many broken and flooring which had become unsafe.

The colour chosen is Royal Blue which will blend in with the blue paint on the main stand. 

We have also asked for a price to replace the VIP seating in the main stand.

When completed we will have a 51 seater stand at the high jump area (as existing) the large back straight stand with 669 seats and we will construct another 51 seater stand adjacent to the external long throws area.  We are confident, those who want to watch the throws to the rear of the back straight will enjoy this new facility.

Refurbishment of the old Announcers Box

Work has started on refurbishing the old announcers box.  When completed we will have a comfortable VIP box for those watching stadium events.

The refurbishment also includes new double glazed panels.

Photo Finish Tower

The photofinish tower is also having a special double glazed window that will allow an opening for the photo finish camera to work, without having to take out a complete window, which on occassions was very difficult.

To compliment the wireless photo finish system which on occassions proved testing for those operating the system the electronic photo finish syatem has been improved and the system can also work by being hard wired so as to avoid any problems experienced in the past.

Club House Area

The Club House area has recently been decorated and much improved. We are still awaiting exercise mats to be delivered for those who use the Club house for warm ups. The Gymnasium and weights area is still under discussion and prices for new equipment is being sought.

 
Ideal New Spectating Area

In the main stand the old stair wells have been infilled and this has created 2 fantastic new viewing areas at the top
